• Repainting the gutter – If you have installed a steel or copper gutter, make sure you paint it often with waterproof paints to prevent rust and corrosion. This increases its lifespan.
• Using a mesh wire sieve – There are different sizes of mesh sieves that allow water and other small particles to pass through, thus preventing large materials that may block the water passage. Leaves that may fall on the rooftops are also prevented from entering the flow pipe.
• Using solid covers with open sides – The drainage pipe from the rainflow gutter system is constructed with holes on the sides or at the base of the covers. The debris that may be carried along with water does not stick to the gutter due to water adhesion at the top, hence easy drainage.
• Placing gutter guards – Most of the gutter guards are made from Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) that is capable of preventing the particles from clogging the rainflow gutter systems. The guards protect the front area of the waterway.
• Removing the dirt in the gutter manually – This is the easiest way for anyone to protect the gutter as you just mount the roof and take the dirt off, by using bare hands or a broom. But take care to avoid falling off from the rooftop.
